Cheh to Colleagues: Fix This Pool. Fix This Library.
How is Councilmember Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3) spending her summer recess? Well, she’s probably not spending much time at either the Wilson Aquatic Center or Tenley-Friendship Library.
Many D.C. libraries will also be open until 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, as opposed to just two days a week.

D.C. Library Digital Commons Opens With 3-D Printing, Book Pressing, and Lots of Computers
The new facility at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library contains contains a 3-D printer, an Espresso Book Machine, and several meeting spaces outfitted with some of the newest productivity technology.

D.C. Chief Librarian to Retire Later This Year
Ginnie Cooper, the head of D.C.’s Public Library system, will retire later this year, she said today in a news release.
Ginnie Cooper, D.C.’s chief librarian, has been awarded the Thomas Jefferson Award for Public Architecture by the American Institute of Architects.
