Organizing for Action, Gridlock for D.C.
Washington usually suffers from political gridlock, but yesterday an elected politician caused a much more literal form of gridlock.
Ahhh, the joys of August driving. Enjoy those empty roads while you can, because it’s about to get way more trafficky in these parts next week.
The 2011 National Marathon, the only marathon to take place completely within the confines of the District of Columbia, is scheduled for Saturday. The Marathon always causes major issues for drivers — add in the fact that Saturday is also the first day of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and we’re expecting a full blown trafficpocalypse around the District on Saturday.

What’s With Traffic on 14th Street?
Morning rush hour has seemed more tedious lately on 14th Street NW: we’ve noticed and have gotten emails about gridlock on 14th going south from about Columbia Heights all the way to Thomas Circle, apparently without explanation. It seems to be worst from between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., and we haven’t been able to figure out a reason for it—DDOT’s website doesn’t have anything, we haven’t gotten any AlertDC notices about it, and we…
