Three D.C. residents say that the city’s law on “ghost guns” is vague and overbroad, potentially ensnaring otherwise legal guns and gun owners.

The committee also voted for a measure to permanently ban ghost guns.

Plaintiffs argued against Virginia’s 250-person venue capacity limit, saying that the restrictions violated their rights to keep and bear arms.

Virginia’s largest county follows several others in taking advantage of a new state law that gives localities the authority to ban guns on public property.

It came the same day as a suit from New York’s attorney general against the National Rifle Association.

Virginia’s two Democratic senators are using the commonwealth’s sweeping overhaul of gun laws as a blueprint for national change.

The judge, however, rules that people ages 18 to 20 are exempt from a new law requiring background checks for all purchases of firearms, including private sales.

But its campus police department can still acquire military-style tactical equipment through traditional purchases and other government programs.
