Chef Haidar Karoum (Proof, Estadio) was crowned the champion of last night’s Capital Food Fight. But the real winner was DC Central Kitchen, for which the event raised over half a million dollars.

Estadio, a new Spanish restaurant from the owners of Proof, opens today at 1520 14th Street NW. The restaurant will serve a range of Spanish tapas and “slushitos,” which are essentially alcoholic slurpees.
