The Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon and 5K is set to close a number of roads in downtown D.C. starting Friday night through Saturday.

Bright and early on Sunday morning, participants will start running in the D.C. Half Marathon, which will bring road closures around the Tidal Basin and National Mall.

Most road closures will begin around 7 a.m. for Saturday’s half marathon and end around 2 p.m.

A new half marathon scheduled for November 3 challenges its runners to eat a chili-covered half-smoke at Ben’s Chili Bowl in the middle of the 13.1-mile race.

Personally, this DCist will be heading down to Virginia Beach to drink gin and tonics and run the annual Rock ‘N’ Roll Half Marathon (let’s face it, probably while drunk).
