The proposal was the latest in a series of attempts to prevent a new facility for men transitioning out of federal prison from opening in the District.
D.C.’s Historic Preservation Review Board voted down a historic designation for the site of a proposed halfway house, clearing the way for the facility to be built.
The halfway house will be run by CORE DC, which has held a contract for home confinement of some D.C. residents since the end of April.

Reporters were camped outside Gilbert Arenas’s Great Falls house this morning, waiting for Agent Zero to return home for the first time since he entered a halfway house 30 days ago.
