Disability Rights DC says staff members should have been able to prevent a patient’s murder in March.

Hospital staff are reusing surgical and N95 masks. Some are buying their own respirators to protect themselves.

The two medical facilities are meant to greatly improve health-care access in parts of the city that are heavily African American.

It will triple the amount of patients that the healthcare provider can see annually in Southeast.

The lawsuit, which has not yet been filed, will focus on the hospital’s plans to scale back acute-care services.
