The House Appropriations Committee yesterday passed a bill authorizing the slice of the District’s budget that comes from the federal government, and once again, Congress is up to its annual shenanigans.

Members of the House Appropriations Committee have noticed that D.C. wants budget autonomy, but they’re not convinced by April’s referendum.

The House Appropriations Committee approved today a spending bill covering federal funding for the District of Columbia for the next fiscal year. But it includes the rider prohibiting the District from using its own funds to pay for abortion services.
