Georgetown University’s newest bulldog made his Verizon Center debut over the weekend, chasing after and popping balloons like a champ. Watch.

The recent news that Georgetown’s official mascot Jack the bulldog had injured himself and might require surgery bummed plenty of people out. Well, good news is on its way—and it’s adorable.

If you went to Georgetown or have been to any of its sporting events, you’ve likely seen Jack, the adorable bulldog that has served as the university’s official mascot since 1962. Well, Jack might be out of commission for the months to come—he’s injured.

During a game in Beijing against the Chinese Basketball Association’s Bayi Rockets, the Georgetown men’s basketball team got into a brawl after head coach John Thompson III pulled his charges off the court in the middle of the fourth quarter.

Let’s be honest: unless you’re Rachel LaBruyere or hail from Richmond, the men’s NCAA Tournament has lost a bit of its luster for D.C. homers. Georgetown and George Mason failed to advance past the tournament’s first weekend, and the tournament itself has packed up from the Verizon Center, taking it’s insane finishes and Kemba Walker’s acrobatics along with it. But though local interest in the men’s tournament is waning, the women’s competition actually has some regional juice, featuring a matchup between long-dormant rivals Georgetown and Maryland.
