Same-Sex Marriage Upheld in Maryland
Maryland became the one of the first two states to approve same-sex marriage by a public vote, upholding a law passed in March that made the Old Line State the seventh state to offer full marital rights for all couples.
Supporters of Maryland’s same-sex marriage law are sending thousands of volunteers into the field today to urge voters to approving a ballot measure upholding the law.
The Human Rights Campaign today announced a $100,000 contribution from the actor Brad Pitt to help fund the organization’s final six days of campaigning for ballot measures in four states that would legalize same-sex marriage.
The offices of 11 gay rights organizations were briefly evacuated earlier today after receiving a series of bomb threats, including one that was phoned in from California.

If you’re down on the National Mall this weekend and see, oh, 12,000 flags stuck in the ground, don’t be alarmed. The Federal Government hasn’t started an experimental flag farm, nor is the display an effort of the area’s squirrels to show their patriotism.
