D.C. Taxicab Smart Meter Installation Stopped
A judge halted the installation of smart meters in D.C. taxicabs yesterday, possibly delaying a full roll-out of meters that accept credit cards and have GPS tracking and TV.

One Day, After the Rain @ the Phillips Collection
Sandra Cinto’s installation at the Phillips Collection has a title that is ambiguously poetic enough to mean nothing: One Day, After the Rain. In the case of her multipart ink and acrylic mural on the walls of the Phillips’s Vradenburg Cafe, the title adds a lovely and natural simplicity to the piece which crawls across the walls showing the evolution of a storm.

In Irons and Nightscaping @ Civilian Art Projects
Now permanently located on the second floor of 1019 7th Street NW, the entrance to the new Civilian Art Projects gallery boasts a menacing archway with crudely sharpened bed posts poised to strike any who enter. While the large haunted house-type installation by Trish Tillman isn’t the most welcoming art piece, it is a great representation of the type of work the gallery can once again house.
