The lawsuit alleges that the two freelance journalists have suffered severe emotional distress as well as reputational damage due to their experiences during their arrest and prosecution.

“This case is about making sure that dissent is respected and protected in the future,” says one of the plaintiffs.

While the Police Foundation found that most officers acted professionally, the report says cops were overworked and undertrained for the protests.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office of D.C. did not include one defendant’s name in the motion to dismiss, however.

It’s the latest in a slew of dismissals from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

People involved with the planning of protests on Inauguration Day in D.C. were in court to fight a search warrant that would require Facebook to give prosecutors 90 days-worth of their account information.

“Opening up a person’s Facebook account can open up a person’s entire life.”

The trials will move forward.

But the court will oversee federal prosecutors’ search of the information.

Dreamhost is fighting the request, which it calls unreasonable and overly broad.
