The public can weigh in on their preferred design for the new addition to the Air and Space Museum until Sept. 19.

The suggestion followed growing criticism over library trustees’ decision to name an auditorium after Bezos in recognition of a $2.7 million donation he made to a childhood literacy program.

Bezos gave the D.C. Public Library $2.7 million late last year to create a new childhood literacy program, but critics say the auditorium’s naming is an insult to the library’s namesake, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Activists wore masks, took care to maintain physical distance, and planned the action for the outdoors to lessen the risk of spreading COVID-19.

The owner of The Washington Post and CEO of Amazon bought it anonymously for $23 million in October.

She’ll be succeeded by Politico CEO and Co-Founder Fred Ryan.
