SILVERDOCS Opens with Pete Seeger

The 5th annual SILVERDOCS AFI/Discovery Channel Documentary Festival officially kicked off last night at the AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center in Silver Spring with the Washington, D.C. premiere of Jim Brown’s film Pete Seeger: The Power of Song. New Life for an Old Dive

When Jim Brown decided it was time to move on after 30 years of owning the Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring, it seemed like yet another historic tavern would fall by the wayside. But local entrepreneurs Jackie Greenbaum and Patrick Higgins swooped in and made sure the beloved dive stayed open.
