Where Are the Local Colleges in the NBA?

Last week the Wizards signed former GW forward Mike Hall to a 10-day contract, making him the second Colonial from last year’s team to make it to the NBA. George Mason continued its Cinderella run through the NCAA tournament last night, earning a berth in the quarterfinals with a 63-55 win over Wichita State at Verizon Center. When George Mason’s name was called on Selection Sunday, it turned more than a few heads (including DCist’s). They were included over major conference clubs like Cincinnati and Florida St., and conference foe Hofstra, who had just beaten the Patriots in the CAA semis. It was a busy weekend for college hoops in the area. By and large, it was also a successful one.
