There are now rebates for businesses and residents that still need to make a switch to battery-powered or electric blowers.

The bill would prohibit the use or sale of gas-powered blowers by 2022.

Some blamed gas-powered blowers for excessive noise and air pollution, while others said a prohibition on their use would create an undue burden on landscapers.
