People accused of violent crimes in Virginia will no longer be able to use the victim’s gay or trans identity as a defense in court.

Emmelia Talarico was at a corner store near her house when she says she was shoved, threatened, and yelled at. Eventually, one of the men in the group followed Talarico home and allegedly threw a rock at her window.

“The clinic aims to address the health disparity that these youth have experienced in years.”

It would require healthcare professionals to take two credits of LGBTQ cultural competency training.
