Boundary Stone owner Gareth Croke found himself at the center of an Internet shit storm yesterday after posting a tweet urging followers to sign a petition against the tipped living wage bill.

Approximately 300 people were hired to work at each location, and more than 23,000 applications were received.

Could an end be near to D.C.’s long-running quest for an appropriate living wage bill? Maybe.

Anita Bonds (D-At Large) was the only Councilmember to change her vote, joining the side who opposed the bill.

New poll shows that 71% of D.C. voters support the living wage bill, and 63 percent of those voters would support a mayoral candidate who supports the bill.

After Mayor Gray vetoed the living wage bill last week, David Catania will introduce legislation to raise the District’s minimum wage.
