“All of us have seen the flurry of recent news reports about alleged hate crimes and harassment—from hijabs yanked off of women’s heads, to swastikas sprayed on the sides of synagogues, to slurs and epithets hurled in classrooms.”

A letter sent to public schools today warns that it could withhold federal funding if they discriminate against a student’s sex, including gender identity.

More than 500,000 signatures were handed over to the Department of Justice this morning.
