She & Him played a sold-out 9:30 Club on Wednesday night, as Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward captivated an adoring audience with their distinctive brand of incandescent retro-pop. Having previously performed just a handful of concerts in support of their debut album, the duo are currently embarking on a much more extensive tour behind their second record, Volume Two, seeming well on their way to establishing bona-fide live credentials which should put to rest any suspicions that they’re just another movie-star-fronted novelty act.

Buckle up, music fans.
