$1 Movies Monday and Tuesday

The new Regal Gallery Place Cinema in Chinatown (707 Seventh St. NW) won’t offically open until this Friday, but organizers are offering $1 movies, $1 popcorn and $1 sodas today and tomorrow to celebrate. All proceeds from Monday’s shows will go to benefit the DC Special Olympics. The profits from Tuesday’s screenings will go to Project Harvest. Lobbying at the Botanic Garden

DCist recently saw “The Manchurian Candidate” and saw some startling similarities to Washington in the movie and Washington in reality. First off, our recent terror warning with checkpoints leading to Capitol Hill seems to fit in with the theme of the movie. But one thing was definitely off.
