After Atlanta Shooting, Local Asian Activists Rally Against D.C. Police And Call For Solidarity
The vigil and demonstration happened a day after shootings at three spas in Georgia that left eight people dead, including six Asian women.
A few dozen organizers gathered in freezing temperatures on Sunday for The March for Reparations after the event’s original date was pushed back due to the insurrection on January 6.
It is a 10-day trek that begins at Emancipation Park in Charlottesville on August 28 and ends in the nation’s capital on September 6.
More than 1,000 religious leaders are expected to attend the “One Thousand Ministers March for Justice” rally on Monday to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and rally against President Donald Trump’s leadership in light of the deadly rally in Charlottesville.
