There will be road closures Friday for the annual anti-abortion rally.

Streets downtown will be closed to vehicular traffic on Friday, as the annual anti-abortion march returns.

It’s January, which means it’s time for the annual March for Life, an anti-abortion march that has rallied in D.C. for the past 45 years.

It is the first time that a vice president or president has ever spoken at the annual anti-abortion rally.

The anti-abortion rally will shut down streets between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

“Today, as we reflect on the 41st anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, we recommit ourselves to the decision’s guiding principle: that every woman should be able to make her own choices about her body and her health,” Obama said in a statement.

The annual March for Life hits D.C. today, and a number of roads will be closed for the event.

Nellie Gray, a lawyer and activist who founded an annual anti-abortion event that fills the National Mall every January, died recently. She was 86.

As they do every year, tens of thousands of pro-lifers will gather on the National Mall today for the March for Life, where they will again demand further restrictions on abortions throughout the country.

Evidently the right-to-life or anti-choice movement is made up of cute young people and cranky-looking old men. Oh, and toddlers. Toddlers are not pleased.
