Lunch on Capitol Hill for $5 or Less
By DCist contributor Elisabeth Grant D.C. can be an expensive place to eat lunch. A meal from Cosi will set you back $8, any sit-down place is at least twice as much that, and even if you’re just going for coffee, a grande pumpkin spice latte (the most delicious beverage on the planet) will put you out over $4. Move To Temporary Building at Eastern Market Delayed
Construction of the temporary building at Eastern Market has begun, though somewhat behind schedule. While that name is still in use, do you think the gentrification and development in the surrounding neighborhoods will eventually cause the Malcolm X name to disappear? Feel free to post your thoughts…

Market Lunch Ends Weekend Breakfasts
Alert DCist readers pointed us to the news that the Market Lunch, a staple of Eastern Market, has ceased weekend breakfast service. No reason other than possible fatigue has been cited. The Market Lunch’s breakfasts have long been one of the best options for a quick, affordable breakfast for Eastern Market shoppers. The Washingtonian noted a few years ago that the popularity of the breakfast was immediately visible: On Saturday mornings, the line for Market…
