Maryland Attorney general-elect Anthony Brown, a Democrat, won by a sizable margin Tuesday.

Prompted by delays in certifying primary results, the board is seeking approval to count mail-in ballots ahead of Election Day.

Due to a Maryland law, election officials can’t start counting mail-in ballots until after polls close on Election Night.

Early voting opened on Thursday, July 7, and Primary Election Day is July 19.
