The change follows a a federal judge’s ruling earlier this week that deemed the CDC’s masking requirements on public transportation unlawful. WMATA and other local transit systems have also eliminated masking requirements.
The masks will be distributed through local health departments, state-run testing and vaccination sites, nursing homes, and community groups.
