In Interviews With Jan. 6 Committee, Bowser And Contee Tied Insurrection Response To 2020 Protests
Bowser and Contee said criticisms over the aggressive federal response to racial justice protests in summer 2020 impacted how federal officials responded to the Jan. 6 insurrection.
The money is coming from D.C.’s allotment from the $1 billion federal Pandemic Emergency Assistance Fund, which was created as part of a COVID-19 relief bill.
“We have to get back to that cycle of making sure that our children are vaccinated,” said D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser on Monday.
