A group of shopkeepers have launched a petition asking the D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs to “stop treating record stores and vintage stores like pawn shops.”

A number of second-hand and vintage shops in Adams Morgan and 14th Street were warned this week that if they didn’t get a new business license reserved for pawn shops, they ran the risk of thousands of dollars in fines.
