National Women’s History Museum Will Install Its First Physical Exhibit At D.C.’s MLK Library
While the full exhibit will arrive this spring, the museum has already installed a shattered glass portrait of VP Kamala Harris on the museum’s first floor.
The suggestion followed growing criticism over library trustees’ decision to name an auditorium after Bezos in recognition of a $2.7 million donation he made to a childhood literacy program.
Bezos gave the D.C. Public Library $2.7 million late last year to create a new childhood literacy program, but critics say the auditorium’s naming is an insult to the library’s namesake, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Fully opening this September, a series of exhibits walks library visitors through decades of D.C. history and culture.
