Another dog has gone missing outside the Whole Foods on P Street, and animal rights group PETA is begging dog-owners not to leave their pets unattended, even if for a minute.

The dognappers, it seems, are more brazen than ever.

Is Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett a closet DCist reader? Perhaps, since this idea is ripped straight from the comments on our posts about Molly: Leggett has proposed a new law which would allow authorities to fine dog (and cat) owners $500 if they tie up their animals in public without keeping an eye on them.

Looks like Maryland Route 5 found himself a veritable Molly. Maybe it’s a bad idea to leave the dog leashed up outside a shop (in this case, Books-a-Million in Dupont). But it’s only right to share a dog so damned cute with the community. That bandana! If this is wrong, I don’t want to be right….
