Last Night’s Action: What’s It Werth to You?
Jayson Werth, of all people, played the hero at Nationals Park last night. Meanwhile, in New York, it was just ugly for the Wizards.
Earlier this season, after who knows what number post-game press conference where he had to explain a frustrating loss, Wizards coach Flip Saunders exited the media room with an impassioned step. The media followed his path up until the point where Saunders carried forward to his office, per usual, while hurried members of the press took a quick turn left into locker room to interview players. Before disappearing around the corner, in a moment where he probably thought he was alone, Saunders let out a loud expletive, both rhyming with and feeling down on his luck.

Wizards Look to Shake Road Woes in New York
Monday night’s solid win against the Dallas Mavericks, halting one of the league’s best teams’ hot twelve game winning streak, ought to give the Wizards a jolt of confidence as they head tonight to Madison Square Garden to face off against the hapless New York Knicks. Don’t look now, but the NBA season is just two weeks away. When last we saw the Washington Wizards, LeBron James was carving up their defense and talking Gilbert Arenas out of winning games from the line. Wizards Crush NBA’s Worst Team
The visiting New York Knicks came into last night’s tilt against the Wizards with the NBA’s worst record and the league’s highest payroll. With just 19 wins, the Knicks brass is paying roughly $6.5 million dollars per win. They, much like the crowd at the Verizon Center last night, aren’t getting their money’s worth.
