In Win for Libertarians, Virginia Court Finds That Restrictions on Petition Circulators are Unconstitutional
A Virginia court has ruled that restrictions on who can and cannot circulate nominating petitions for candidates to get on the ballot are unconstitutional.
The Libertarian Party is suing D.C. over rules restricting who can and cannot collect signatures to get candidates for elected office on the ballot.

It’s about that time again — starting today, candidates for the April 3, 2012 D.C. primary election will be out gathering signatures to get themselves on the ballot.
The D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics is tweeting updates this morning as 2010 candidates stop by on the first day to pick up nominating petitions. Starting today, candidates have until Wednesday, July 7 to collect the required number of signatures in order to appear on the ballot for the September primary elections.
