Residents of the United Medical Center facility were hurriedly transferred elsewhere two months ago. Now, those moves will be permanent.

More than 120 residents and staff were infected with COVID-19, and the disease caused 29 deaths at the facility.

With home care scarce, in-person support groups and meet-ups moved online, and nursing homes shuttered, families of people with Alzheimer’s disease are assuming new burdens.
