A group of demonstrators affiliated with the Occupy D.C. movement are suing the Metropolitan Police Department and Bank of America over what they say were unlawful arrests during several days of protests outside a bank branch in downtown D.C.

Occupiers Make Bad Neighbors for Petworth Residents
The Post reports today that residents of Varnum Street NW are not so enthused with their newest neighbors—a group of several dozen Occupiers, who have moved into a house in Petworth in rather shoddy fashion.
Six activists were found guilty yesterday of unlawful entry for entering the abandoned Franklin School downtown last November as part of a protest against cuts to homeless services.
Occupy D.C. returned to McPherson Square! And by returned we mean that they pitched three tents and didn’t sleep in them.
Members of Occupy D.C. who were arrested last December when the protest group erected a barn-like structure in McPherson Square were found guilty today of disorderly conduct—along with other charges for some—by a magistrate judge in D.C. Superior Court.

Occupy D.C.’s Last Remaining Tents Knocked Over
Eight months after their camping gear first started filling up McPherson Square, members of Occupy D.C. discovered today that the last remaining tents and tarps filling the park had been knocked over during the night.
A woman in Northeast D.C. was evicted from her home today despite a last-ditch attempt by members of Occupy D.C. to prevent it from happening.

For May Day, Occupy D.C. Goes Barefoot in the Park
For May Day, Occupy D.C.’s organized a rally and march that was far more sedate than the activities by Occupy groups in other cities. There was a maypole, drum circle, party games and history lessons.
