The last day that riders could use the paper cards was March 5.
Starting on Sunday, Metro’s faregates will only accept SmarTrip cards.
By January there won’t be a way to buy the soon-to-be relics, and faregates will stop accepting them in March.
Metro will spend $8.7 million to get rid of paper.
