Gray Administration Stands By Embattled Fire Chief
After Councilmember Mary Cheh called for D.C. Fire Chief Kenneth Ellerbe to step down, Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Paul Quander came to Ellerbe’s defense.
As many as seven D.C. fire department employees face “personnel action” for their roles in three ambulances being incorrectly listed as out-of-service earlier this month when a Metropolitan Police Department officer was struck by a car.
Mayor Vince Gray said today that he’s “unalterably opposed” to a Metro proposal to cut service along two bus routes in Southeast D.C. due to rocks being thrown at buses and passengers.
