Virginia Bill Would Order Teachers to Carry Guns
In the wake of last week’s mass shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates is going several steps further and actually require some educators to carry guns.
It looks like Virginia Republicans are shying away from debating a proposed bill that would grant fetuses in the commonwealth the same rights as people.
Some residents of Georgetown are feeling smothered. Not by air pollution or construction or stress, but by the cyclists and runners who sometimes go through their neighborhood during races.

A day after Gov. Bob McDonnell and Virginia Republicans amended a controversial ultrasound bill by removing a requirement for an invasive probe for women seeking an abortion, the Virginia Senate prepares to vote on legislation that would define life as starting at conception.
