Current and former employees of the restaurant group say they felt undervalued and unheard, experiences that suggest the company has not made good on its promise to put staff first.

The field has narrowed across the board since February, but D.C. still has several big names in the running, including Pineapple & Pearls and Bad Saint.

2016 was another banner year for D.C. restaurant openings.
