A Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson said the pitbull was involved in a “violent skirmish” with a poodle. Another MPD representative said police were dispatched to the scene at around 10:05 a.m. At some point, officers shot the pitbull.
Pitbull will speak at the 2013 National Charter Schools Conference on July 1 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
