Another Opportunity to Donate Prom Dresses

To follow-up on our post from earlier today that featured photos of DCPS’s annual prom dress boutique, some commenters asked if there was anywhere else they could still donate gently used prom dresses. The answer is yes — local non-profit Once Upon a Prom is still collecting dresses prior to its big prom dress giveaway planned to take place at Eastern Market on May 1 (which will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)….

Click Click: DCPS Prom Dress Boutique

The folks over at the D.C. Public Schools’ Office of Family and Public Engagement were kind enough to share with us a few fun images from DCPS’s annual prom dress collection drive and shopping day. Each spring, the school district solicits donations of gently used gowns, purses, shoes and other accessories, and then invites students to come try on and pick out items for their proms, free of charge.
