Shane Lamond was charged with obstruction of justice for sharing confidential information about a D.C. police warrant for Tarrio’s burning of a Black Lives Matter flag.

The investigation apparently centers around contacts with the Proud Boys, a group with white nationalist ties.

The lawsuit filed by Attorney General Karl Racine seeks significant damages for the costs incurred by D.C. when hundreds of police officers responded to the insurrection.

Enrique Tarrio will start serving the sentence in the D.C. Jail in two weeks.

Bryan Betancur of Silver Spring was allegedly outside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, where he was tracked using GPS coordinates and images he posted to social media.

As D.C. officials warn locals to avoid the protests and MPD mainly focuses on separating opposing groups, some wonder if there’s a better approach.

Many decided to close, out of concern for violence or coronavirus risk. But others decided to remain open, some out of financial necessity.

D.C. Police say they arrested Enrique Tarrio as he entered the District and charged him with destruction of property and possessing two high-capacity magazines.

The lawsuit calls the events last month “coordinated and clear acts of trespass, theft, and destruction of property.”

“We are taking additional steps to protect the safety of our visitors, guests, and employees,” the hotel said in a statement.
