It’s been a year since the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial opened to the public, but a controversial quote that officials have pledged to change remains.

Controversial Quote on MLK Memorial to be Changed
After plenty of controversy over a quote along one side of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, Secretary of the Interior Kenneth Salazar has instructed the National Park Service to go about changing it.
During a legislative meeting at the Wilson Building this afternoon, the D.C. Council was discussing a measure sponsored by Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh which would push the District’s primary up to April in order to fall into line with federal regulations. Ward 8 Councilmember Marion Barry had some reservations about the bill.
