Starting on Wednesday, November 22, more than 20 public libraries in all eight wards are offering free COVID-19 rapid tests for pick-up to D.C. residents.

Montgomery County public libraries began distributing at-home rapid tests on Monday, a practice D.C. and Virginia introduced shortly before the holidays.

Thousands of rapid COVID-19 tests have been given out to D.C. residents since last week, a stark contrast to supply-starved stores and surrounding jurisdictions with limited or no supply of their own.

A number of urgent care centers and medical facilities either don’t have rapid testing, or provide it only if patients meet strict criteria.
