Despite a $34 million renovation, algae blooms have started appearing in the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool.

The Mt. Pleasant Branch Library opens tomorrow after over two years worth of work that saw a new addition built while the library’s historic core was maintained.

Amtrak is set to propose a $7 billion plan to overhaul and expand Union Station with the goal of tripling its passenger capacity and dedicating new tracks to high-speed service.

For years, the Howard Theatre has been little more than a shell at the corner of Florida Avenue and T Street NW. This month, though, the renovation of the landmark theatre hit the 80 percent mark as a new sign was hoisted along its facade; the $29 million project is slated to be completed in April 2012.
