D.C. was on a tree planting binge last year, planting 12,111 new trees. Still, the city appears to be losing tree canopy even faster.

In a report card released today, D.C.’s roads, transit system, and levees received low scores.

In its annual State of the Nation’s River report, the Potomac Conservancy gave its namesake body of water a “C” for overall health. So its parents are only mildly disappointed.
