Graham Asks Gray for Formal Statement on Shadow Campaign, But Doesn’t Call for His Resignation
Councilmember Jim Graham (D-Ward 1) today asked Mayor Vince Gray to provide a formal statement on the illicit $653,000 shadow campaign, but he stayed away from asking him to resign.
While three members of the D.C. Council have called on Mayor Vince Gray to resign, D.C. Council Chair Phil Mendelson called any such move “premature.”
Councilmember Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3) is the second member of the D.C. Council calling for the resignation of Mayor Vince Gray in the wake of revelations that a “shadow” campaign was waged in support of his 2010 run.
