After a few years of aggressive striping of new bike lanes across the District, work on new lanes seemed to stall a bit in 2011. But with a few new big bike lane projects set to roll in the next few weeks and months, we may start seeing a little forward momentum on establishing broader cycling infrastructure—and just in time for good weather.

Kevin Spacey Takes Capital Bikeshare For A Spin
Oscar winner Kevin Spacey is in town today to deliver the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy to a Americans for the Arts’ annual Arts Advocacy Day. But before delivering the speech at the Kennedy Center this evening, Spacey stopped by the White House for a tour — and check out how he was getting around. Spacey posed in front of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on top of a Capital Bikeshare bicycle, joking on his Twitter account that his tour “had a very small carbon footprint.”
