After a few years of aggressive striping of new bike lanes across the District, work on new lanes seemed to stall a bit in 2011. But with a few new big bike lane projects set to roll in the next few weeks and months, we may start seeing a little forward momentum on establishing broader cycling infrastructure—and just in time for good weather.

Earlier this month, we let you know about a bike ride which will take riders along all 50 of the District’s state-named roadways. Now, thanks to this video, cyclists who are undertaking that 60-plus-mile ride this Saturday can get an idea of the sights they’ll see.

Oscar winner Kevin Spacey is in town today to deliver the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy to a Americans for the Arts’ annual Arts Advocacy Day. But before delivering the speech at the Kennedy Center this evening, Spacey stopped by the White House for a tour — and check out how he was getting around. Spacey posed in front of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on top of a Capital Bikeshare bicycle, joking on his Twitter account that his tour “had a very small carbon footprint.”
