The display would likely happen after Trump’s acceptance speech, though it hasn’t yet been approved.
Trump has said he wants to accept the Republican nomination from the White House’s South Lawn, but Republicans and Democrats have pushed back on the idea and questioned its legality.

GOP Draft Platform Not So Hot On D.C. Statehood
A D.C. delegate also tried to include support of same sex marriage in the platform, but the measure failed.
