The H Street eatery falls victim – again – to a spate of restaurant break-ins that have occurred since the pandemic began.

They were charged as adults and given eight years each.

In total, the suspects allegedly committed 19 robberies.

Police believe six robberies that occurred early Tuesday morning are possibly related.

WMATA has seen an uptick in robberies involving the Apple phone on parts of the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines, and they believe that many of the cases involve the same suspect or group of suspects.

19-year-old Reshawn Devonta Peay was charged with burglarizing eight Northeast D.C. homes between December 3 and January 23, when Margo was taken from her home in Kingman Park.

According to police, in each incident, the suspect hands a clerk a $100 bill, disputes the change he receives, confuses the clerk and leaves the business with the change and the $100 bill.

After a rash of robberies has put residents and police in the District on high alert, everyone seemed to sign a breath of relief last night when police announced that they had made two arrests. But then there were three more robberies this morning.

Most everyone has a smart phone these days, and plenty of people aren’t discrete about using them out in the open. But for D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier, every smart phone user is a potential victim, and today she joined Mayor Vince Gray in warning of a citywide uptick in robberies and thefts of phones and other electronic gadgets.
