R.J. Cooper is bringing in 10 decorated chefs from noted restaurants around the country for residencies at his restaurant Rogue 24.

So, you have the means to land a seat for R.J. Cooper’s pricey tasting menu at the newly opened Rogue 24, eh? Better get ready to sign a contract.

Rogue 24, chef/owner R.J. Cooper’s new kitchen theater/destination dining experience, has announced a July 27 opening date. The 52-seat restaurant, tucked away in Blagden Alley, will seat diners for a 16- or 24-course menu.

DCist has learned that Chef R.J. Cooper will helm his own restaurant, Rogue 24. The restaurant, to be located on Blagden Alley near M and N Streets NW, is projected to open sometime in the winter of 2011. The James Beard Award winner will be exclusively offering 24-course tasting menus that will be paired with eight different beverages. The fixed menu price is $130 — diners will have to pay $140 for non-alcoholic beverage pairings and $170 for alcoholic beverage pairings. This model appears to be based on some of Cooper’s experiments during his tenure at Vidalia.
